Most people have insufficient knowledge about oil filters, thinking that only used oil needs to be purified. Many new oils also need to be purified. For example, lubricating oil will undergo physical and chemical changes under high temperature and high pressure, and generate colloidal substances through oxidation and superposition, which will increase the viscosity of the oil and produce sludge; contamination and dilution by fuel, or contamination by water, will cause the viscosity of the oil to decrease, and even produce emulsification. Unqualified oil products are very harmful to the equipment itself.
Water is the biggest harm of industrial oil to equipment. For example, the harm of water in lubricating oil mainly includes three types:
1. When water is mixed into lubricating oil, it is easy to produce foam, block the oil channel, and increase the freezing point of lubricating oil, which is not conducive to low-temperature flow performance. At the same time, it will also weaken the strength of the oil film, reduce the lubrication performance, and cause wear of machine parts.
2. Water reacts with iron filings that fall into the lubricating oil to form iron soap, which mixes with dust, machine stains, colloid and other pollutants in the lubricating oil to form sludge, which accumulates in the oil channel of the lubricating oil system and the filter screens of various filters, causing insufficient oil supply on the friction surfaces and accelerating the wear of the parts.
3. Water in the lubricating oil will also absorb sulfur oxides and low-molecular organic acids in the exhaust gas of the combustion chamber, aggravating the corrosion of metals.
