Diagnostic Guide for Oil Filter Operation Failures

As mentioned above, the design of the oil filter equipment takes into account safe shutdown when there is a fault or incorrect operation. Before assuming a major fault, the following points should be checked:

1) Is the power connection correct?

2) Is the connection of the inlet and outlet oil hoses correct, and are the corresponding ball valves on the electrical equipment open?

3) Are the ball valves on the oil filter equipment operated according to the required operating conditions?

4) Is the pump direction correct?

If the fault still exists after checking the above points, the following table will help you to judge and eliminate the fault.

FaultCauseSolution
Oil not properly filtereda) Pressure gauge shows excessive pressure difference on the filter
b) Low pressure drop across the filter
a) Clean the filter; if ineffective, replace the filter
b) The fine filter's precision is too low or damaged
Vacuum degree dropsa) Air intake
b) Vacuum pump exhaust port closed
c) Vacuum pump failure
d) Vacuum pipeline leak
e) Insufficient vacuum pump oil
f) Vacuum pump oil contaminated with water
g) Excessive water vapor in extracted gas
h) Incorrect vacuum gauge reading
a) Check if the air intake ball valve is properly closed
b) Check
c) Refer to the vacuum pump manual
d) Repair the pipeline
e) Refill vacuum pump oil to the oil level line
f) replace with new oil
g) This is normal
h) Run the vacuum pump and check the vacuum gauge reading; calibrate or replace
Oil expelled from the vacuum pump exhaust port due to excessive foaming in the vacuum separatora) High levels of dissolved gas and air in the oil
b) Low oil temperature causing foaming
c) Oil pump failure or blockage preventing oil discharge from the vacuum separator
d) Oil level in the vacuum separator too high
a) Run the equipment at partial vacuum until gas content decreases
b) Circulate the oil to increase temperature
c) Clean or repair as needed
d) Lower the oil level in the vacuum separator
Oil temperature too higha) Incorrect temperature controller setting
b) High power supply voltage
c) Contactor contacts stuck, unable to disconnect
d) PLC contacts stuck, unable to disconnect
a) Check and adjust the temperature controller
b) Check the power supply voltage
c) Repair or replace the contactor
d) Contact the manufacturer
Low oil transfer rate
Note: Due to temperature and pressure changes, the flow rate can vary by +5% to -10%
a) Inlet filter screen clogged
b) Recirculation ball valve partially open
c) Inlet pipe obstructed
d) Inlet pipe pressure too high
a) Clean the filter screen
b) Check the position of the recirculation ball valve
c) Blow through or replace
d) Do not operate the device with an inlet pressure above 4.5m
e) Increase oil intake
f) Reduce vacuum degree
g) Lower the height
h) replace the oil seal
Vacuum pump oil intakea) High oil level in the vacuum separator, oil drawn into the cooler and then to the vacuum pump
b) Excessive vacuum degree, causing intake to exceed output
a) Control oil intake to maintain the oil level at the midpoint of the level gauge
b) Reduce vacuum degree
Drain the vacuum pump oil, clean the vacuum pump, replace the vacuum pump oil, and control oil intake to balance input and output
Vacuum pump-motor stops during operationa) Voltage too high
b) Power supply phase loss
a) Pause operation
b) Check the power supply
Reduced oil discharge, pressure gauge reading increasesa) Pre-filter clogged with impurities
b) High discharge location
c) Insufficient discharge time
a) Clean or replace the filter element
b) Lower the height
c) Check the discharge time
Insufficient oil intakea) Primary filter clogged
b) Reduced vacuum degree
a) Clean or replace the filter element
b) Increase vacuum degree
Filter oil failurea) High water content in oil
b) Insufficient oil heating
c) Filter screen damaged
d) Low vacuum degree
a) Increase filtration次数
b) Increase heating temperature
c) Repair or replace filter elements
d) Refer to "Vacuum pump failure"
