Causes of water ingress into fire-resistant oil

Absorb moisture from the air----Since fire-resistant oil has a strong ability to absorb moisture, and the fire-resistant oil tank is connected to the atmosphere, the moisture content in the fire-resistant oil will increase. Fire-resistant oil tanks are divided into two types: equipped with air desiccant and without air desiccant. Fire-resistant oil tanks provided in places with relatively high air humidity are equipped with air desiccant to prevent moisture in the air from entering the oil tank; in places where the air is relatively dry, fire-resistant oil tanks do not have air desiccant but are directly connected to the atmosphere. Fire-resistant oil tanks do not have air desiccant.


The water inlet of the fire-resistant oil cooler----The current structure of the fire-resistant oil cooler is a vertical tube cooler with a cooling area of 2.1m2. The cooling tube is a copper tube, and the shell and tube sheet are stainless steel. The cooling tube and tube sheet are sealed with expansion tubes. The seal between the tube sheet and the shell, that is, the seal between the water chamber and the oil chamber, is sealed by a fluoro rubber O-ring under the pressure of the water chamber end cover.


EH oil cooling water is designed as open circulation water, which is the same water as the condenser cooling water. When the condenser water chamber was opened, it was found that the cooling pipe was severely scaled, indicating that the water quality of the open circulating water was very poor. In summer, the EH oil temperature reaches 55°C at its highest, while the exhaust temperature of the low-pressure cylinder is only about 47°C. Therefore, the scaling of the cooling pipe of the EH oil cooler is more serious than the scaling of the stainless steel pipe of the condenser.


If the fire-resistant oil is operated at a high temperature for a long time, it is easy to causes oxidation of the fire-resistant oil, which is not conducive to the operation of the EH system, so the EH oil cooler needs to be cleaned by brushing. When the water chamber end cover is opened, the O-ring is no longer stressed and loses its sealing effect, so that the water side and the oil side are connected. Because the cooling water isolation door is not tight and leaks inside, a large amount of water enters the fire-resistant oil, and the oil level of the fire-resistant oil tank rises by 15mm.
