Insulating oil filtration equipment is mainly used to remove moisture, gas, impurities and aging products from insulating oils such as transformer oil and switch oil to restore or improve their insulation performance and physical and chemical indicators. Common equipment types include:
- Principle: Remove moisture, gas and particulate matter from oil through a combination of processes such as heating, vacuum dehydration and precision filtration.
- Features:
- Efficient dehydration (can reduce moisture to below 10ppm).
- Degassing (removal of dissolved gases such as oxygen and nitrogen).
- High filtration accuracy (up to 1~5 microns).
- Application: Purification of transformer oil, cable oil and capacitor oil.
- Principle: Pressurize the oil to pass through the filter element or filter paper to mechanically intercept particulate matter and part of the moisture.
- Features:
- Simple structure and easy operation.
- Filtration accuracy depends on the filter element (usually 3~10 microns).
- Inability to dehydrate and degas deeply.
- Application: coarse filtration or pretreatment, such as removing mechanical impurities in oil.
- Principle: Use centrifugal force to separate water and impurities of different densities from oil.
- Features:
- Suitable for treating large amounts of oil containing free water.
- Unable to remove dissolved water or tiny particles.
- Application: Preliminary treatment of insulating oil with high water content.
- Principle: Use adsorbents such as silica gel and molecular sieves to remove trace moisture and acidic substances in oil.
- Features:
- Deep dehydration (can be reduced to below 5ppm).
- Can improve the acid value of oil quality.
- Application: Precision dehydration or regeneration of aged oil.
- Principle: Use an electrostatic field to adsorb tiny particles such as colloids and carbides in oil.
- Features:
- Good removal effect on carbonized particles.
- Need to be used in conjunction with other filtering methods.
- Application: Treatment of carbonized oil caused by arc or overheating.
- Combination process: vacuum + pressure + adsorption + electrostatic combination to achieve comprehensive purification.
- Typical functions:
- Dehydration, degassing, impurity removal, deacidification, and carbon removal.
- Application: high-end insulating oil treatment or waste oil regeneration.
1. According to the type of pollution:
- A lot of water → choose vacuum or adsorption;
- A lot of particles → choose pressure or electrostatic;
- Comprehensive pollution → choose a composite oil filter.
2. According to the amount of oil, choose centrifugal or vacuum for large flow, and choose pressure for small flow.
3. Accuracy requirements: High precision requires a filter element below 1 micron + vacuum dehydration.
Notes
- The oil quality needs to be tested before filtering (such as water content, dielectric loss, and breakdown voltage).
- Explosion-proof design equipment is required for flammable oil products.
- replace the filter element or adsorbent regularly.
