The insulating oil filtration system is mainly used for the purification and maintenance of insulating oil in power equipment (such as transformers, mutual inductors, circuit breakers). Its core function is to remove impurities, moisture, gas and degradation products in the oil, restore or maintain the performance of the insulating oil, and ensure the safe and stable operation of the equipment. Specific functions include:
- Filter mechanical impurities (such as metal particles, fibers, dust, etc.) to prevent them from depositing on the surface of insulating materials or windings to avoid partial discharge or short circuit.
- Protect the precision parts inside the equipment (such as tap changers) from wear.
- Moisture will significantly reduce the dielectric strength of insulating oil and accelerate oil aging. The filtration system removes moisture through vacuum heating or adsorption technology (such as molecular sieves) to prevent:
- Degradation of insulation performance (reduced breakdown voltage);
- Hydrolysis degradation of oil-paper insulation system;
- Rust inside the transformer.
- Remove dissolved gases (such as oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, etc.) in oil to avoid:
- Bubbles causing partial discharge;
- Oxygen accelerates oil oxidation (forming acid and sludge);
- Hydrogen and other fault gases interfere with the accuracy of online monitoring data.
- Filter acidic substances, sludge and colloids produced by oxidation in oil to prevent:
- Sludge blocks cooling channels and affects heat dissipation;
- Acidic substances corrode metals and insulating materials.
- Regular filtration can delay oil deterioration, reduce oil change frequency, and reduce maintenance costs.
- Avoid equipment failures caused by oil quality problems (such as overheating, insulation breakdown).
- Before filtration, oil chromatography analysis is often used to determine potential equipment failures (such as arcing, overheating) by detecting gas components in oil (such as acetylene and methane).
- Reduce waste oil discharge and realize oil recycling through regeneration treatment, which meets environmental protection requirements.
- Compared with replacing new oil, the filtration cost is lower.
- New oil treatment: purification before injection into the equipment to ensure that the initial oil quality meets the standard.
- Operation and maintenance: regular filtration or online treatment to deal with slight deterioration of oil quality.
- Post-maintenance treatment: re-purify the oil after equipment overhaul.
- Fault recovery, such as oil regeneration after moisture or slight pollution.
- Mechanical filtration: removal of solid particles.
- Vacuum dehydration and degassing: efficient removal of water and gas.
- Adsorption treatment (such as white clay, silica gel): deep removal of acidic and colloidal substances.
By combining these technologies, the insulating oil filtration system has become a key link in ensuring the reliability and long life of power equipment.
