Turbine oil purifier (also called turbine oil filter or turbine oil purification device) is an oil purification device specially used for turbine oil systems (such as steam turbines, gas turbines, water turbines, etc.). Its main function is to remove impurities, moisture, gas and degradation products in the oil, keep the oil clean, and ensure the safe and stable operation of the unit.

Main uses of the turbine oil purifier

1. Remove moisture (dehydration)

- Function: During operation, turbine oil may be mixed with water due to poor sealing or condensation, resulting in oil emulsification, reduced lubrication performance, and even rust of metal parts.

- Oil purification method: Use vacuum dehydration, coalescence separation or centrifugal technology to efficiently remove free water and dissolved water.

2. Filter solid particles

- Function: Metal wear particles, dust, colloid and other impurities in the oil will accelerate the wear of bearings, bushings and other components, and even block the oil circuit.

- Oil purification method: remove particles larger than 1μm through multi-stage precision filtration (such as glass fiber filter element, stainless steel filter screen) to meet NAS or ISO cleanliness standards.

3. Degassing (defoaming)

- Function: Air or dissolved gas mixed in the oil may cause surface oxidation, increased foaming, and affect lubrication and hydraulic stability.

- Oil purification method: vacuum degassing or ultrasonic defoaming technology to reduce the gas content in the oil.

4. Purification of deterioration products (regeneration)

- Function: Long-term operation of oil will produce acidic substances, sludge, etc., due to oxidation, which will reduce the performance of the oil.

- Oil purification method: adsorbent (such as diatomaceous earth, activated clay) or electrostatic oil purification technology to remove acidic components and colloids.

5. Online monitoring and maintenance

- Function: Real-time monitoring of oil parameters such as water content, particle size, acid value, etc. to prevent sudden failures.

- Technical application: Some oil purifiers integrate sensors and control systems to achieve automatic operation.

Typical application scenarios

1. Steam turbine generator set: maintain the cleanliness of the main oil tank and regulating system oil to prevent servo valve jamming.

2. Gas turbine: reduce oil oxidation products caused by high temperature and extend the oil change cycle.

3. Hydropower station turbine: deal with oil moisture problems in humid environments.

4. After the overhaul of the lubricating oil system, pre-filter the new oil or oil after the overhaul.

Key indicators for selecting oil purifiers

- Processing flow: match the unit oil tank capacity (such as 5-200 L/min).

- Purification accuracy: moisture ≤50ppm, particle size ≤NAS level 6.

- Function combination: whether to integrate heating, vacuum, adsorption and other functions.

By using a turbine oil purifier, the oil life can be significantly extended, equipment wear can be reduced, maintenance costs can be reduced, and the unit's operational reliability can be improved.
