Principle of Vacuum Dehydration Oil Purification System

The vacuum dehydration oil purification system is mainly used to remove moisture, gas (such as air, hydrogen) and tiny impurities from transformer oil, lubricating oil, hydraulic oil and other oil products to improve the insulation performance, antioxidant ability and lubrication effect of the oil. Its core principle is to combine vacuum negative pressure + heating, + precision filtration to achieve efficient purification.

1. System composition

The vacuum dehydration oil purification system usually consists of the following key parts:

1. Primary filter - removes larger solid particles in the oil (such as metal chips, fibers, etc.).

2. Heating system - increase the oil temperature (usually 60~70℃), reduce the viscosity of the oil, and promote water evaporation.

3. Vacuum separation tank (vacuum chamber) - core component, evaporates and separates water and gas in a negative-pressure environment.

4. Vacuum pump - maintains the vacuum degree in the system (usually -0.095~-0.099 MPa).

5. Condenser - condenses the evaporated water vapor into liquid water and discharges it.

6. Precision filter - further removes tiny particles (such as impurities of 1~5μm).

7. Control system - automatically adjusts parameters such as temperature, vacuum, flow rate, etc.

2. Working principle (step-by-step analysis)

(1) Pretreatment (coarse filtration)

- The oil first passes through a coarse filter (such as a 20~50μm filter) to remove large particles and protect subsequent equipment.

(2) Heating (reduce viscosity and promote water evaporation)

- The oil enters the heater (electric heating or thermal oil heating), and the temperature rises to 60~70℃ (too high will cause oil oxidation).

- After heating, the fluidity of the oil is enhanced and the water is easier to evaporate.

(3) Vacuum dehydration (core step)

- The heated oil enters the vacuum separation tank, and the tank maintains a high vacuum (above -0.095 MPa).

- Under vacuum, the boiling point of water decreases (e.g., at -0.095 MPa, water can boil and evaporate at about 40°C).

- Free water, dissolved water, and gas in the oil evaporate rapidly and are pumped out by the vacuum pump.

(4) Condensation drainage

- The evaporated water vapor and gas enter the condenser, turn into liquid water after cooling, and are discharged through the drain valve.

- Non-condensable gases (such as air) are discharged from the system by the vacuum pump.

(5) Fine filtration (removal of residual particles)

- The dehydrated oil passes through a precision filter (1~5μm) to remove residual tiny particles and ensure the cleanliness of the oil.

(6) Purified oil output

- The treated oil can be directly injected back into the equipment or stored, and its water content, gas content, and particle size all meet the standards (e.g., transformer oil water content ≤ 10 ppm).

3. Technical advantages

| Advantages | Description |

|------|------|

| Efficient dehydration | Water evaporates quickly under a vacuum environment, and free water and dissolved water can be removed (as low as 5ppm or less). |

| Thorough degassing | Remove air, hydrogen, etc., dissolved in oil to improve insulation performance (such as gas content of transformer oil ≤0.1%). |

| Precision filtration | Can remove particles larger than 1μm and improve oil cleanliness (NAS level 5~6). |

| Energy saving and environmental protection | Oil can be recycled to reduce waste oil discharge and oil change costs. |

| Automation control | PLC control, real-time monitoring of temperature, vacuum degree, and water content to ensure stable operation. |

4. Application areas

- Power industry: dehydration and degassing of transformer oil and switch oil.

- Industrial lubrication system: purification of turbine oil, hydraulic oil, and gear oil.

- Petrochemical industry: regeneration of turbine oil and compressor oil.

- Mechanical manufacturing: metal processing oil, quenching oil purification.

The vacuum dehydration oil purification system efficiently removes water, gas and impurities in the oil through the method of "heating + vacuum evaporation + precision filtration". It is suitable for the high-standard oil purification needs of the power, petrochemical, machinery and other industries. Its core advantages are deep dehydration, thorough degassing and a high degree of automation. It is key equipment for oil maintenance and regeneration.
