Principle of Turbine Oil Purification

Time:2025-02-21 10:20:23  Reading volume:

The principle of turbine oil purification is mainly to remove moisture, gas, particulate matter and other impurities in the oil through physical and chemical methods to maintain the performance of the oil and ensure the normal operation of the turbine. Common purification methods include:

1. Vacuum dehydration and degassing

- Principle: In a high vacuum environment, the boiling point of the oil is reduced to evaporate the water and gas, and then discharged through a vacuum pump.

- Advantages: Efficiently remove moisture and gas, and improve the insulation and lubrication properties of the oil.

2. Filtration

- Principle: Remove particulate matter and colloid in the oil through multi-stage filtration (such as filter screen, filter paper, filter element).

- Advantages: Effectively remove solid impurities and reduce equipment wear.

3. Centrifugal separation

- Principle: Use centrifugal force to separate water and particulate matter of different densities in the oil.

- Advantages: Suitable for processing oil with high water content and high separation efficiency.

4. Adsorption purification

- Principle: Use adsorbents (such as activated alumina, silica gel) to adsorb moisture and acidic substances in the oil.

- Advantages: It can deeply remove moisture and acidic substances and extend the service life of oil.

5. Electrostatic purification

- Principle: The charged particles in the oil are adsorbed on the electrode through the electrostatic field.

- Advantages: It can efficiently remove tiny particles and is suitable for high-precision purification.

6. Chemical purification

- Principle: It can react with impurities in the oil and remove them by adding chemical reagents.

- Advantages: It can effectively remove acidic substances and oxides and improve oil quality.

7. Heating

- Principle: Heating reduces the viscosity of the oil and facilitates the separation of moisture and impurities.

- Advantages: It improves the purification efficiency and is often used in conjunction with other purification methods.

Turbine oil purification removes moisture, gas, particles and impurities in the oil through vacuum dehydration and degassing, filtration, centrifugal separation, adsorption purification, electrostatic purification, chemical purification and heating, ensuring the performance of the oil and the normal operation of the turbine. The selection of purification method should be determined according to the degree of oil contamination and equipment requirements.
