How to filter impurities from industrial oil?

The impurity filtering methods for industrial oils vary depending on the type of oil and the type of impurities. Common methods are as follows:

1. Mechanical filtration

- Filters or filter elements: Remove solid particles through filters or filter elements of different precisions (such as 10 microns to 100 microns).

- Filter bags: Suitable for large flow filtration, filter bags can capture larger particles.

2. Centrifugal separation

- Centrifuge: Use centrifugal force to separate impurities of different densities, often used to remove water and solid particles.

3. Adsorption filtration

- Activated carbon: Adsorbs organic impurities such as colloids and pigments in oil.

- Diatomaceous earth: Used to remove tiny particles and colloidal substances.

4. Vacuum dehydration

- Vacuum dehydrator: Heat the oil in a vacuum environment to evaporate and remove water and light impurities.

5. Electrostatic filtration

- Electrostatic filter: Adsorbs tiny particles through an electric field, suitable for high-precision filtration.

6. Chemical treatment

- Additives: Add chemicals to precipitate or condense impurities for subsequent filtration.

7. Coalescing and separation

- Coalescing filter: gathers tiny water droplets into large droplets and then separates them, often used to remove moisture.

8. Magnetic filtration

- Magnetic filter: absorbs ferromagnetic particles in oil, suitable for oil-containing iron chips.

9. Depth filtration

- Multi-layer filter material: gradually removes impurities of different particle sizes through multi-layer filter material, suitable for high-precision requirements.

10. Regular maintenance

- Regular replacement of filter element: ensure the continued effectiveness of the filtration system.

- Oil testing: regularly test the quality of oil products and deal with impurities promptly.

Consider the following when choosing a filtration method:

- Oil type: such as lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, etc.

- Impurity type: solid particles, moisture, colloid, etc.

- Filtration accuracy: select the appropriate accuracy according to the equipment requirements.

- Flow and pressure: ensure the filtration system can withstand the working conditions.

The life of oil products and equipment can be effectively extended by choosing a reasonable filtration method.
