The operating temperature of the lubricating oil purifier (oil filter or oil treatment system) depends on the type of lubricating oil, purification technology and target pollutants. The following are typical temperature ranges and precautions for different purification methods:
- Temperature range:
- Mineral lubricating oil: 50~70℃ (60℃ is commonly used).
- Synthetic oil (such as PAO, ester oil): 40~60℃ (avoid high temperature degradation).
- Function:
- Reduce oil viscosity and improve water and gas evaporation efficiency.
- Too high temperature (>80℃) will accelerate oil oxidation, and too low temperature (<40℃) will have a poor dehydration effect.
- Temperature range:
- 40~60℃ (oil fluidity needs to be maintained, but no water needs to be evaporated).
- Note: High temperature may cause light components to volatilize and affect oil quality.
- Temperature range:
- Adsorption stage: 30~50℃ (high temperature will reduce the water absorption capacity of the adsorbent).
- Adsorbent regeneration: 200~300℃ (such as molecular sieve baking activation).
- Temperature range:
- 20~50℃ (too high temperature may lead to emulsification stability and affect the coagulation effect).
- Temperature range:
- Normal temperature~60℃ (high temperature may affect the stability of the electrostatic field).
1. Differences in oil types:
- High viscosity oil (such as gear oil): higher temperature (60~70℃) is required to reduce viscosity.
- Low flash point oil: the temperature must be strictly below the flash point by more than 20℃ (such as turbine oil flash point 180℃, heating ≤80℃).
2. Avoid oxidation:
- Mineral oil continuous heating time ≤ 8 hours, synthetic oil is more sensitive (recommended ≤ 4 hours).
3. System protection:
- Equipped with an over-temperature alarm (such as ≥ 75℃ automatic shutdown).
| Purification process | Recommended temperature | Applicable pollutants |
|--------------------|-------------|------------------------|
| Vacuum dehydration | 50~70℃ | Moisture, gas |
| Centrifugal separation | 40~60℃ | Free water, solid particles |
| Adsorption filtration | 30~50℃ | Trace moisture, acidic substances |
| Coagulation dehydration | 20~50℃ | Emulsified water |
| Electrostatic purification | Normal temperature~60℃ | Micron-sized particles, colloids |
- Test the oil sample first: determine the water content, viscosity, and flash point before setting the temperature.
- Step heating: avoid local overheating, especially for high-viscosity oil.
- Real-time monitoring: adjust the temperature in combination with the vacuum degree and flow rate to ensure the best purification effect.
Reasonable temperature control can balance purification efficiency and oil protection. For specific parameters, please refer to the equipment manual and the lubricant manufacturer's recommendations.
