   - Filtration: The lube oil system typically includes filters that trap these contaminants, keeping the oil clean and the system functioning efficiently.

   - Prevents Leaks: In some turbine designs, lube oil acts as a seal to prevent the leakage of gases or steam between high-pressure and low-pressure zones within the turbine.

   - Protects Against Corrosion: The thin oil film provides a protective layer that helps prevent corrosion on metal surfaces.

 

5. Hydraulic Control:

   - Operation of Actuators and Valves: In some turbine systems, lube oil is used to operate hydraulic actuators and control valves that regulate the turbine's speed and other functions.
