A variety of purification methods are available for removing particulate contamination from lubricating oil. Here are some common and effective purification methods:

‌Filtration method‌: This is the most traditional and widely used method for oil purification. By setting sieve holes and nets of different coarseness, depth and depth on the oil flow channel to limit the passage of large and small impurities. The filtration accuracy can be adjusted according to specific needs. For example, gear oil usually uses a filtration accuracy of 20μm, while hydraulic oil may require a higher filtration accuracy of 10μm.

‌Sedimentation method‌: Use the different densities of oil impurities to separate them through gravity and centrifugal acceleration. This method is suitable for removing solid particles with a large specific gravity.

‌Centrifugal separation method‌: A faster mechanical sedimentation method. When the centrifugal device rotates at high speed, the centrifugal force is many times greater than gravity, which accelerates the removal of water and dust. Inside the centrifuge, the contaminants move outward and upward and are discharged, while the clean oil is discharged from a separate outlet.

‌Electrostatic oil filter‌: It uses a high-voltage electrostatic field to make the polluted particles in the lubricating oil show positive and negative charges respectively, and swim towards the negative and positive electrodes under the action of the trapezoidal electric field, and finally be adsorbed on the collector. This method can completely remove pollutants from the oil.

‌Balanced charge oil filter‌: After coarse filtration, the waste lubricating oil flows to two branches, and the micron/submicron particle pollutants in the oil are charged with nearly balanced positive and negative charges by loading a controllable current. When the two branches merge and fully mix, the pollutants are enlarged by mutual adsorption and coagulation, and then intercepted by the high-precision filter element.

‌Resin absorption and adsorption method for water removal‌: The adsorption effect of ion exchange resin is used to remove water and certain dissolved pollutants in the lubricating oil.

‌Coalescing method for water removal‌: Through the coagulation effect of special materials, the water in the lubricating oil is aggregated into larger water droplets, which are easy to separate and remove.
