Light oil coalescing and separation oil filter introduction

The main component of the coalescing separation oil filter is the coalescing separation system, which is usually composed of a coarse filter, a semi-fine filter, a coalescing separator, an oil pump, a control system, etc. The coalescing separator is mainly designed for liquid-liquid separation, and has the dual functions of filtering impurities from the oil and coalescing water. It is used to remove impurities, free water, emulsified water, etc., in the oil, and is an important functional component of the fine filter.

The coalescing separator contains two filter elements, namely the coalescing filter element and the separation filter element.

For example, in the oil dewatering system, after the oil flows into the coalescing separator, it first flows through the coalescing filter element, which filters out solid impurities and coalesces extremely small water droplets into larger water droplets.

Most of the coalesced water droplets can be separated and removed from the oil by their weight, settle in the sump, and then the oil flows through the separation filter element. Since the separation filter element has good lipophilic and hydrophobic properties, it further separates water, making the oil clean and water-free, and flows out of the coalescing separator.

The oil first enters the lower part of the filter housing through the inlet pipe, and then flows through the filter element from outside to inside. The coarser particles will immediately settle down and be released by the drain valve, and the smaller particles will be intercepted by the filter element.

Finally, the clean oil is collected by the filter element tray and flows out of the coalescing separator through the outlet pipe. As the amount of processed oil increases, the pollutants deposited on the filter element will cause the pressure difference of the coalescer to rise.

When the pressure difference rises to 0.15MPa, it means that the coalescing filter element has been blocked and should be replaced.

The oil flows into the primary tray from the oil inlet of the coalescing separator, and then is diverted to the inside of the primary filter element. After the process of filtration, demulsification, water molecule growth and coalescence, impurities are retained in the primary filter element, and the coalesced water droplets settle in the sedimentation tank. The oil enters the secondary filter element from the outside to the inside and is collected in the secondary tray.

The material of the secondary filter element flowing out of the coalescing separator outlet is hydrophobic, so the oil can pass smoothly, while the free water is blocked outside the filter element, flows into the sedimentation tank, and is discharged through the drain valve.
